Located on a small island off the eastern coast of Nicaragua, Big Corn Island offers a peaceful Caribbean getaway renowned for its white-sand beaches and vibrant turquoise waters. It serves as the perfect setting for a tailored beach house that highlights the very best of Nicaragua.

The project features a simple floor plan centered around a main living space, allowing for easy circulation between the various wings of the home. With a focus on the kitchen and living area, the design emphasizes indoor-outdoor living through large overhangs and expansive decks that extend across the entire exterior. The east wing includes a powder room and a separate shower/laundry area that connects to an outdoor shower. The guest and master suites occupy the other two wings facing west, both featuring sliding doors that open directly onto the deck and offer stunning ocean views.

The layout allows the house to open completely to the outdoors via sliding glass doors and manual wooden shades. This flexibility provides the option to secure the home or invite in cool breezes while providing necessary shade from the western sun.

The house is a tranquil space where indoor and outdoor elements exist in harmony. Travertine floors, white plaster walls, and a blend of dark and light wood tones soften the atmosphere, perfectly complementing the natural surroundings.
